'Drake's Island after the Storm' - is a mixed media painting created en plein air during a stormy day in the summer of 2019. Standing on Plymouth Hoe, looking across the water to Drakes Island, I was taking part in the filming of episode 1 of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2019. This seascape landscape combination was created using watercolour markers, inktense pencils and interactive acrylics. I tried to capture the mood and lively colours that would sporadically come to life in both landscape and water during the ever changing weather of this coastal spot.
