"Reds Relaxing" I began this watercolour painting of 4 red poll steer with a sharpie pen sketch, working from life in the open air. Using gestural line work, it took a few minutes to outline each cow and the trees on the horizon line. Once I'd done this, I added shading to the cattle. Then a few months later, I returned to the same field with the original sketch and painted the scene with thin washes of watercolor.
