'The Skateboarder' - inspired by people walking along the seafront at Exmouth, I sketched these people from life as they took a walk near the sea wall on an Autumn day. The background is minimal but just enough to set the scene with a cloudy sky, distant hills, a lamp post and part of the stone wall. The man in the hoodie looks back, sensing he may have walked past something unusual, a young child holding her mother's hand is distracted, wait, that black cow is on skateboard! A surreal touch to an everyday scene painting in watercolor.
