'Always Ready' - pencil sketch of a young deer inspired by the mob of deer in the grounds of Powderham Castle in Devon. This location has provided me with plenty of animal inspiration over they years, in particular deer and sheep. The drawing was done using just a medium soft pencil and I've tried to keep everything as simple as possible in terms of line and shading while allowing a little bit of controlled haphazardness to creep into the marks to help give the impression that this animal is always ready to move.
New work and videos uploaded every Sunday.
