Description
'A Brief Escape From Public Life' - inspired by an encounter a friend of mine had with the then Prince of Wales. King Charles III has been known to go to Dartmoor in Devon and work on the farm to take a break from public life. This line and wash watercolor painting imagines the King having put his crown down on the grass and then wandered off beyond the horizon into a Devon valley. In fact the imperial state crown shown is only used for the Coronation of the King. A Belted galloway cow (often found on Dartmoor) is seen in the background looking at the crown.
